Never a dull moment around our busy house!
Even weeks that don’t seem over-the-top busy still feel as though they go by in a flash. When I look back at our calendar I can’t believe what we crunched into just 7 days!
The weekend was a flashback to a time BC (before children)
as we took off childless to a family wedding in Port Clinton, Ohio.
The evening wedding was at the historic Mon Ami Winery
located just far enough away that we decided to stay overnight.
Thanks to my mother-in-law and my younger sister’s relatives,
my entire immediate family was able to gather for the ceremony sans kids.
(A very rare accomplishment indeed!)
Did you know I teach Graphic Design at a local college?
(You know… in my spare time?)
This semester I teach two classes on Mondays.
I really love teaching. But I find that as our family grows
and our lives get busier, it has become harder and harder to fit in.
And this week I had TONS of grading.
So, I stayed late to finish it all.
By 11 p.m. I had everything graded! (Whew!)
I LOVE my Tuesdays.
It is the one day where I get to dedicate much of my time
to hanging out with my children.
You know the drill:
Kindermusik, lunch, speech, a little afternoon work,
and then back to Kindermusik again?
This Tuesday we tried a new lunch spot: The Hospital Cafeteria.
YUM! We will definitely will do that again!
Wednesday marked the last day of a shortened
school week due to elementary conferences.
The kids were SO EXCITED to have some time off!
Me? I was excited to not have to pack lunches for 4 days!
However, I did make them complete all their homework for the extended
weekend ON Wednesday before they went outside to play.
I know, mean mommy!
who wants to think about homework over a 4 day weekend?
(They’ll thank me later, right?)
Speaking of Thank Yous…
Driven by my own frustrations after a conversation with my 6-year-old
during a ridiculously long and draining day, I wrote this post on Mothers Central
and dedicated it to every parent out there who at one time or another…
Has EVER felt underappreciated.
You know who you are. (Um, all of us?)
I hope you’ll check it out and share it if you relate!
Leave A Comment: So where did your busy week go? And also, I’m curious… where is the most beautiful wedding location you have ever been too? (I would have to say the wedding we went to this weekend definitely ranks up high on the “unique wedding” scale!)
